Kentucky Baseball to Host Xavier on Sunday

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Kentucky baseball team will host Xavier in an exhibition game set for Sunday evening at Kentucky Proud Park. The game will conclude UK’s official fall practice window and first pitch set for 6 p.m. ET.

Sunday’s game will take place after a soccer doubleheader at the adjacent Wendell & Vickie Bell Soccer Complex and fans are encouraged to take in all the action at both venues. The women’s soccer team hosts Vanderbilt at 1 p.m. and the men welcome South Carolina at 3:30 p.m.

The exhibition game is free and open to the public. Tickets are not needed for entry and seating will be on a first-come, first-served basis and a limited selection of concessions will be available on the concourse. 

The Cats are entering the fourth season under head coach Nick Mingione and have won 103 games during his three-year tenure. The program has seen 24 players selected in the past two Major League Baseball drafts, including a school-record 13 in 2018, and a pair of first-round selections in Evan White (2017) and Zack Thompson (2019). The program also advanced to the Super Regional for the first time in school history in 2017 and opened $49 million Kentucky Proud Park last season.

Season ticket holders can renew their 2020 season tickets through their My UK Account Season ticket holders will have the option of a two-month payment plan at the time of renewal, exclusively online through their My UK Account and the renewal deadline will be October 29.
