What a better way to kick off a huge UK sports weekend than by listening to the one and only Lukasz Obrzut on Just The Cats this morning. Michael managed to steal the popular former UK big man away from time on that other radio show…and Woo did not disappoint.
I don’t chuckle easily, but I found myself laughing out loud at some of these priceless moments. Of course you have to read them in Woo’s voice to get the full effect.
On his difficulty in getting into the studio this morning: “I-264 was traveling at the speed of smell, but I’m here. So let’s have some fun. Let’s talk about tomorrow’s pig roast.”
On Jared Lorenzen’s “one hell of a game”: “He was a leader on the field and off the field…He always wanted to find ways of encouragement. That’s the way all of us should live our life. Don’t be Debbie Downer every day. Just find the positive aspects. For example, I know you are stuck in traffic right now, but you’re listening to “one hell of a show.”
To all the haters out there: “If you don’t have anybody to hate, then feel free to hate on me.”
On how grateful he is for being a part of BBN: “Sometimes it takes people two lifetimes to go through the experiences I had before I was 25.”
On baseball in Poland: “I didn’t have a clue what baseball was. Growing up in Poland, in our stores, we sell about 3000 bats, but only 3 baseballs.
On his “intoxicating” smile: “If you don’t have a smile on your face, you can have one of mine.”
On the crowd for the Arkansas game on Saturday night: There’s going to be a lot of 22s in the stands. The whole stadium is going to be blue out. I’d like to see the whole 80,000 just flooding every single bathroom there is in the stadium.
On what he would tell Jordan Watkins on his de-commitment from UK: “Bye. Have a nice life. Best of luck to you.”
On the difference between SEC and ACC football: “It’s SEC, not ACC. It’s there for a reason. We have 80,000 people in the stands, not just a crowd full of parents.”
Woo also made sure to give a shoutout to Cliff Hawkins, Chuck Hayes, and Eric Daniels. Talk about an awesome teammate!
There you have it–the world according to Lukasz Obrzut.
